SAN FRANCISCO, Sept 1, 2020 -- Qualia, the leading digital real estate closing platform, announced today that Nzau Mutisya, its Director of Finance, has been recognized on HousingWire’s 50 Insiders list. This list recognizes the operational all stars of the real estate industry. HW’s 2020 Insiders were carefully selected by HousingWire’s editorial board based on their vital and dynamic contributions to their companies.
“The winners of our 2020 Insider Awards demonstrate expertise in areas that are critical to the success of the companies they work for,” said HousingWire Editor in Chief Sarah Wheeler. “Especially during this year, which has required rapid adaptation in so many areas, these Insiders have been invaluable to the smooth functioning of the entire housing ecosystem.”
Nzau joined Qualia in 2016 as a founding team member of the Sales and Customer Success team. Since then, he has helped build out the Sales Operations, Onboarding, and Customer Success divisions, worked on all things numbers and metrics, and driven the establishment of new revenue channels.
Today, Nzau is Qualia’s Director of Finance where he is responsible for overseeing Qualia’s financial metrics, unit economics, and pricing plans. In this capacity, Nzau has also helped manage many of Qualia’s fundraising processes. To date, Qualia has raised $95 million from investors such as Bienville Capital, 8VC, Menlo Ventures, and Tiger Global.
On top of this, Nzau also spearheads select strategic initiatives, such as the launch of Qualia’s Bank Partnership channel, a supplement to the company’s Reconciliation offering. Through the program, Qualia customers can save thousands while staying compliant on their daily and monthly reconciliations with the support of Qualia's escrow specialists.
“Qualia’s core values are built around acting as leaders, and in his four years at Qualia, Nzau has consistently shown the ability to think big, to have a bias to action, and to find unconsidered solutions,” Nate Baker, co-founder and CEO of Qualia. “We’re building technology that is making a real impact on one of the largest transactions someone will make in their lifetime - the purchase of a home - and I’m proud of Nzau for all that he’s done to lead our team through the exponential growth we’ve seen to date. I’m looking forward to seeing how he can continue to help us innovate in the days ahead.”
