Qualia’s Remote Online Notarization Procedures & Policies Certified as Compliant with MISMO Requirements
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., July 5, 2022 - Qualia, the leading digital mortgage and real estate closing platform, today announced that Qualia’s remote online notarization (RON) solution has been certified as compliant with the MISMO RON Standards.
MISMO is the standards development body for the mortgage industry. MISMO standards are accepted and deployed by every type of entity involved in creating mortgages, and they are required by most regulators, housing agencies and the GSEs that participate in the industry. MISMO created its RON standards to promote consistency across mortgage industry practices and state regulations to allow the use of audio-visual communication devices to notarize documents in a virtual online environment.
For lenders, title and escrow businesses, and consumers, this accreditation is certified assurance that Qualia satisfies industry standards. These include, among other things, requirements for credential analysis and verification, audio/video quality, secure storage of notarial and post-execution documents, county recordings, and security concerns.
